Auburn, Ala.--Former Auburn University student Taylor Hicks, the 2006 winner of the American Idol contest, will sing at halftime of the Sept. 15th Mississippi State at Auburn football game.
A recording artist for Arista, Hicks will perform with the Auburn University Marching Band under the direction of Dr. Corey Spurlin. They will combine on a medley of songs.

A native of Birmingham, Hicks attended Auburn for three years starting in 1985 where he studied journalism and business and developed a following among music fans in the area with his live performances.

Kickoff time for the Mississippi State at Auburn game is 11:30 a.m. It will be the SEC opener for Coach Tommy Tuberville’s Tigers.
