In his new book, "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks reveals that he was lonely and depressed when he lived in Nashville .

On Wednesday night, Taylor will be at the West End Borders to sign copies of the book, "Heart Full of Soul."

This time, he'll feel the love instead of the tough times he had in pre-"Idol" days when he lived in Nashville.

In the book, Hicks writes, "My stay in Nashville was turning into one of the loneliest, most depressing times of my entire life."

Hicks wrote that he not only couldn't get a deal, but he couldn't...
...even get a gig.

Hicks also wrote that those tough times, though, made him a much better songwriter.
